Rescue Groups and Shelters in Arkansas
Adopting a dog can be one of the most joyous things you do.

Arkansas based rescue groups and shelters are listed here so that you may have access to as many of the dogs available for adoption in Arkansas as possible. All of the rescue groups listed here have their dogs evaluated by a veterinarian and the adoption fees usually cover the cost of the dog’s shots, spay or neuter and heartworm check. If you have any concerns about health issues, ask before adopting.

Making sure the dog fits your home and lifestyle is very important. If you are considering adopting a dog of a breed you are not familiar with, please read about that breed before you visit the dogs. You should decide which breeds are best suited to you before you become attached to a dog that might not be a best fit.  Some breeds are more energetic and may need some one to take them walking while others are more laid back which may be better for other people.  The right dog is out there for you. Take the time to find out about the dog and breed you are thinking about adopting.  It can make all the difference to you and your new family member in the long run.

Good Luck!!!
