| Otis
is a full-blooded yellow Lab about 2-3 years
old and weighs around 90 pounds. He was adopted
from the Jacksonville Animal Shelter just
a few weeks ago. He had been at the shelter
long enough to be in danger of euthanasia
and his adoptive family did not want to
see him put down. The person that adopted
Otis was told that he was good with children
and since the new owner had Labs in the
past, Otis seemed to be a perfect fit for
his home. His new family had him neutered
and all his shots brought up to date and
even had him taken to a local groomer. Otis
is extremely obedient, house broken, knows
some commands, and had not given even a
hint of trouble in or out of the house except
for one issue, he is not well suited to
a home with VERY small children. He has
never given any signs of issues with an
8 yr old or adults. The owner’s problem
is that no one he knows is able to take
Otis as most have very young children. Otis
needs to be in a family with older or no
children, but his owner does not want to
take him back to a shelter of any kind.
The whole family is heartbroken but really
wants to find Otis a suitable home. Otis
is a beautiful yellow Lab and will be fine
in a home as long as there are not very
young children. Otis had not bitten but
he has snapped at a very young child and
we are trying to help his family find an
appropriate home for Otis.
