Boo is a young female German Shepherd Labrador mix breed who appeared on the front porch of her rescuers home last summer and appeared to have no home. Her rescuers were unable to find her owners. Her vitamin deficiencies, worms and general condition suggested that she had been abandoned. Then a week later another dog, apparently her mother, also appeared on the porch.

Both mother and daughter have been nursed back to relative health, and have both been neutered, etc. However, there are three other older dogs in the foster home and Boo and her mother Ginger (also available for adoption) are not getting along too well with the other dogs. Everyone in the foster home works full time so they simply can't keep up with and manage that many dogs. In addition, because of the existing dogs Boo and Ginger’s foster family cannot provide the kind of warmth and shelter for Boo and Ginger that they would like to provide for them.
Boo needs a home with a yard where she can run and play, and either another dog or a steady human companion. Boo needs to be confined because she likes to chase cars. She is playful, energetic, and is very sociable. However Boo is also somewhat anxious, which is understandable after spending her early months living in the woods. Her rescuers believe that she is fairly submissive, at least to humans. It’s thought that she has been with her mother all of her life and still depends heavily on her. It’s expected there will be a little separation anxiety when the big day finally comes.

Boo likes running, chewing, and food, food, food. She does enjoy hanging out with other dogs and is a bit mischievous. She does not like to be alone and hates riding in cars.
Boo is energetic, and really likes running and chasing. Don’t forget about chewing, and food, food, food!
Boo is fundamentally a country dog, which means she needs some room to run and play if possible, but she should not be allowed to run free. Although not technically house trained she has done a remarkable good job of holding it through the night (she is placed in the garage at night in cold weather). She walks reasonably well on a leash, but it would not be fair to say that she is fully "leash trained."

All DogsOnly foster homes work with our rescues to ensure they are crate trained and most are also housetrained. None of the DogsOnly fosters have cats in their homes so we can only make our best guess as to how our rescues would do with cats. We rescue from high kill shelters and once accepted into our program, none of our rescues are euthanized. We provide for all their vet care, socialization and training until an appropriate home can be found.
DogsOnly relies solely on donations and is a 501(c)3 Humane Society. Our mission is to rescue dogs that most other groups are not interested in due to their size, breed, age, health or other various reasons, and to provide education resources for dog owners and those with an interest in the wellbeing of dogs. DogsOnly believes that no dog should be left behind.
